It was around 1997 when George Stimpson, the partner of Sandra Good, first filed for the Non Profit status and was granted it. The website ATWA was soon to follow. The beginnings of a new idea, created on a new internet. The site was extremely popular and the only one of its kind. The first, the creators of it. News reporters were chasing George around in the streets to try to get more information on this thought and website they called ATWA.
Those the early days of the internet, with not many computers in homes or very widely used, having to dial up on the phone line to search the web. The ATWA website even in the early days of the internet all the problems getting online and staying online the site was getting sometime a quarter of a million hits in a month. If you would equate it to todays hits, they would be reaching about 50 thousand people a day on that website.
Then comes 1999 the family of the victims, mainly one Doris Tate, in a uproar over the site and status, pressured public officials and victims rights groups and eventually had the non profit status of George Stimpson suspended.
Now 2011 comes around, Craig Hammond files and Makes ATWA a corporation, he now owns.
In 2012 Afton Burton becomes ATWA's new non profit president.
In 2013 with no filings with the State in opposition of the change, George Stimpson was revoked from the title and entire entity of ATWA, giving sole ownership to Craig Hammond and Afton Burton.
The new ATWA takes advantage of the name but did none of the work to get it, besides steal it, and do nothing to do anything for the environment. They have proven it in government filed documents, as seen below.
