1975 While questioned in custody Lynette Fromme was asked why she had pointed the gun; she stated, "I stood up and waved a gun (at Ford) for a reason, I was so relieved not to have to shoot it, but, in truth, I came to get life. Not just my life but clean air, healthy water and respect for creatures and creation."
Sandra Good was imprisoned for 10 years for conspiracy to send threatening letters to corporate executives unless their corporations ceased polluting the environment.
After her release in 1985, Good led a campaign against the International Paper Co. in defense of Lake Champlain.
It is now a non-profit corporation in 2011. (ATWA was originally fighting against corporate America, now it is Corporate America.)
What exactly is the purpose of ATWA these days? (Seed guns, seed canes, seed balls, selling albums, art, autographs, pictures, CNN news spots, and whatever else they can cash in on.)
What have they done to help any cause? (?)
While staring the process of ATWA being a non profit, the listed president of the non profit was dealing out happy meals at the local fast food joint. (seems a bit of a conflict with an environmental organization teaming up with a corporation that uses animals as a profit.)
Does this organization really help the environment?
In 2011 ATWA was using internet Murder Auction websites to sell photographs, guitars, hair, and other sorts of mementos, some at over $100.00 a pop, but now claiming they make no money?
The environment, the wildlife, the water, the air, trees, bugs and plants all included, have they benefited any to this new ATWA organization?
ATWA was a thought by two women, it was lived in the West Virginia and Kentucky hills by a kid. The thought became a lifestyle, then became trendy, now it's just become all of what it was against.
CORPORATIONS .... Now they are one of them!
Stand up against any corporation that uses the environment too and for it's own advantage, is this not just what ATWA demonstrates in 2014?
I can see on all the web posts they have a bunch of people who have taken a cause and use it to benefit financially, no dogs or oaks trees are getting helped that I can see anywhere. I do see pages and pages of pictures of ones posing with Charles Manson in many positions, but where can I find the pictures of the work being done to help ATWA?
Want to help ATWA go to your local animal shelter and volunteer some time, adopt an animal from death, plant a tree, ride your bike instead, but don't give money to any organization that don't help the cause they say they do.
( Research an organization first on your own don't take any advice from anyone but yourself. )
