Led Zeppelin North American Tour 1975
She swore the last time this happened, she had seen someone shot to death before her eyes.
Goldberg stated that even he couldn't see Page until the following night, to which Fromme responded "tomorrow night will probably be too late." Goldberg persuaded her to write a long note to Page, after which she left. The note was burned, unread.
*These plans were cancelled when on Aug. 4, 1975, Robert Plant and his family were vacationing in Rhodes, Greece, when the car he was driving spun off the road and crashed. It was the first in a string of bad luck for the Led Zeppelin singer; Robert Plant sustained serious injuries from a car accident.
It took some time to recover. Plant broke an ankle and elbow, which didn’t fully heal for another two years. He spent time in a wheelchair. And the down time seriously crippled Led Zeppelin’s upcoming plans, including finishing the tour dates in support of the recently released ‘Physical Graffiti.’
The rest of the tour — including North American dates — was canceled, and Plant’s slow recovery halted work on the band’s follow-up album, ‘Presence,’ which finally came the following year after several delays.
*Jimmy Page Musically-critics believed his playing ability fell sharply as a result of his heroin use in 1975, while others who knew of his dealings with the occult insisted that his poor playing was a result of a black magic curse put on him by Kenneth Anger, an acolyte of the infamous Aleister Crowley.
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant have gone on record by talking about Led Zeppelins’ songs being channeled
through occultism and "automatic handwriting”. Plant said that the lyrics for “Stairway to Heaven” were written while he was oblivious to what was happening through him:
'There's a lady who's sure, all that glitters is gold, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.’
Robert Plant: I was just sitting there with Page in front of a fire at Headley Grange. Page had written the chords and played them for me. I was holding a paper and pencil, and for some reason, I was in a very bad mood at the time, then all of a sudden my hand was writing out the words to Stairway To Heaven and I almost jumped out of my chair. Stairway is interpreted by some to be a calling from Pan, or the devil himself, for the masses to come to him through them and their music. Some fans rumored the members of the group except for Jones, had sold their souls to the devil for their fame, and Stairway was some sort of repayment back to the devil for this notoriety.
*Tragedy would strike Plant again in 1977, when his five-year-old son Karac died of a stomach infection while Led Zeppelin were on tour in the U.S. The news hit Plant hard, who requested privacy and retreated to mourn with his family. During the downtime, he thought about pulling the plug on the group.
Led Zeppelin regrouped in 1978 to work on their final album, ‘In Through the Out Door,’ which included Plant’s tribute to his late son, ‘All My Love.’ He was clearly a changed man by this point. The past several years of tragedy began taking its toll.
*Returning to the road for a brief string of European dates that culminated in 1980, tragedy struck again while rehearsals were underway for a North American tour. Drummer John Bonham, 32, died in his sleep, choking on his own vomit after a day-long drinking binge.
Page’s interest in the dark side of the supernatural, séances, practicing black magic and satanic rituals became part of the mystical rumors that swirled around Led Zeppelin. Coincidentally, Lynette Fromme foresaw the "BAD KARMA" headed Zeppelin's way and tried to warn them all.
